LIVING ON A BUDGET

I've finally decided that I need to live following a budget.  I realize that it isn't really realistic to spend as much money as I do on things that I don't really need.  For the next 3 months I've decided that I'm going to write down everything I spend and live on a cash budget (when possible) to see how much money I can save.

I found a great tool online that helps keep track of expenses.  You can find it here DOLLAR TIMES and a bunch of other budget forms.

How do you guys keep track of things?  Do you have a system that works for you?  What is the one tip that you could give to someone who wants to save a few extra dollars?

  2. good luck!! From time to time when I feel like my spending is snowballing out of control, keeping a log is the only way to bring back that sense of control. I've been doing it on and off for years and I really think it helps. The whole cash basis thing is great too, it's easier to keep track of paper money than digital money.
